August 2013 - Greater Cincinnati Automobile Dealers Association

Join us at Kings Island this Weekend!

As summer comes to a close and children start to make their way back to school, the National Automobile Dealers Association begins their annual “Boost for Safety” campaign, which promotes proper child passenger safety seat restraints.  September is National Child Passenger Safety Month, and we are participating in NADA’s campaign.

We will be at Kings Island on Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  We’ll be informing guests that pass through the “Planet Snoopy” children’s area of the park on proper child passenger safety restraints, information on safety seat fitting stations in the Greater Cincinnati Area, and registering people for their car seat giveaway, going on through September.  On October 1, 12 winners will be drawn, and each will receive a free Evenflo Symphony child passenger safety seat, an all-in-one seat that grows with a child from 5 to 110 pounds, valued at $230 each.

Over 75 percent of children are not properly restrained in their safety seats, and the GCADA, along with the NADA, are on a mission to change that.  Stop by Kings Island this Labor Day weekend for a chance at a free child passenger safety seat, and help us promote SAFE TRAVEL FOR KIDS!

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Walk

This year, we will be participating in Cincinnati’s “Walk for Kids” fundraiser walk on Saturday, September 28.

The walk raises money for the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.  Families of CCHMC patients going through similar emotional and physical challenges can meet, socialize, and give back to the hospital that is or was giving their children the care and treatment they need.

We will have our own team, walkers consisting of GCADA employees and interns.  All funds go towards the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, one of the top three pediatric hospitals, and the largest pediatric research facility in the nation.  Please consider sponsoring us as we give back to our community, and one of our partners in our child passenger “Boost for Safety” campaign.

NADA Headline: Happy Days Return to the Car Market

Last week, the Washington Post published an article on the success in sales that the Auto Industry is seeing.  The post said that the industry is back at pre-recession levels, yet the economy is still weak, and unemployment levels are still high.  While the future is still unknown, the post said that the reasons for why car sales have been up could possibly be because of pent-up demand, or low interest rates.
