Looking for a way to increase customer satisfaction AND generate additional revenue with each sale or lease? Of course, you are. Who isn’t?!
In collaboration with the DeWine Administration and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, OADA successfully pursued a rule to incentivize dealers to offer registration services for their customers’ convenience.
The rule has been in effect for 18 months and allows dealers to charge a negotiable registration convenience fee of as much as $50.00 for each purchase and lease transaction. The fee can be collected in addition to all other fees and costs associated with purchases and leases.
Dealerships around the state offering registration service are reporting penetration rates as high as 80 percent.
There are three simple steps to the process:
- Deliver required registration or registration transfer documents to a deputy registrar on behalf of your customer.
- Receive the license plate, validation sticker and registration document from the deputy registrar by return mail.
- Deliver the license plate, validation sticker and registration document to the customer.
Now, the best part! Dealertrack has developed software that fully integrates with DMS systems to enable dealerships to submit registrations efficiently and directly to a deputy registrar. Your team can benefit your customers, increase productivity and eliminate a need for runners by initiating the registration process from your dealership and receiving ALL completed work by return mail. While your dealership is not required to use the electronic registration system to collect convenience fees, note that Dealertrack’s software reduces the re-entry of data by 90 percent!
Our GCADA Downtown License Bureau is proud to be one of the first Ohio deputy registrar agencies to offer Dealertrack’s innovative service. Even better, for more than 35 years, our bureau has featured a dedicated dealer desk that specializes in quickly and accurately serving dealer needs.
In short, we would love to be your deputy registrar agency partner for the Dealertrack program to help your business take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to increase customer satisfaction, build loyalty, generate additional revenue AND support YOUR metro association!
